To increase the esthetic appeal of the house, people have used marble for ages. Demand of marble as a building material and decorative material have not faded till today. Multiple factors have retained the popularity of marble as an object of home décor. Many houses and commercial complexes of these days have marble flooring. People need to take proper care of the flooring and clean the floor regularly to retain its shine.

Marble can get stained very easily. Someone who has marble flooring in his house should know how to remove stains from marbles. There can be several things which can stain marble. One of the most common causes by which a marble floor is stained is due to the spilling of food on the marble floors. In case, food gets spilled on the marble floor, one should immediately wipe the surface with a piece of soft cloth. This will prevent the mark to settle on the surface of the stone. While laying the marble floors one should apply proper sealers to the floor. If the floor has been laid by professionals then proper sealers would be applied on it. This would repel water, dirt and would increase stain resistance capacity of marble. Therefore, if a person would remove the spilled food from the marble surface immediately then there would be least chance to have stains on the floor. But, in case, the spilled is not removed immediately then one would have to face the problems of stains.

Apart from food, there can be some other factors, which can stain marble. Oil based stains can be formed from tar, grass, mayonnaise, butter and cooking oil. They are difficult to remove and can get a surface stained. One should use mild detergents to get them removed. Stains from rust and metal is not something uncommon. This should be treated with proper cleaners for retaining the natural shine of marble. Mildew and algae are also some of the causes for stains on marble floors. All these stains can be removed if a person would treat it in the proper manner.

Spilling of ink can happen and in fact it is one of the most tough stains to be removed in marble. It can be the ink of a pen or of a magic marker. These can form a tough stain on the marble floor if it is not wiped out immediately. To retain the shine of marble one just needs to follow the proper cleaning tips of marble.
