Use of Marble in Landscape Architecture

Marble is certainly a wonder of the nature. This is one stone that has always blended variety with elegance. No wonder therefore, that marble is considered as one of the greatest stones when it comes to the landscape architecture. In fact, the use of marble is not restricted to any specific genre. Marble is used in the sculpture as well as in the home decoration.

Marble has a unique sense of royalty in it. So, whenever the guests steps in your house, they fall in love with the elegance of the marble floorings and decorations. One of the greatest things with marble is its variety. It is a natural stone and there is no practical limit regarding the texture and color of the marble. In fact, each marble is naturally different from another piece. So, you always have a wide array of color and variety to choose from.

Another interesting aspect of marble is that the impurities enhance the strength of the variety. These impurities are added when the stone was processed. Also the mixed grain marbles are stronger than the single colored ones.

Marble adds style and elegance to any and every spot in the house. It can be used in floors, wall panels and wall niches. The use of marble in mantel or wall niches can transform them in to the center of attraction in the house. Marble can also impart a whole new dimension to the décor of the house in a different way. There are different statues and busts crafted in black marble. Few of them will certainly enhance the charm of the room.

On the other hand, for the decoration of the outdoors, a garden bench made of marble can be placed just by the side of a marble statue. This will certainly add class to the entire scene. The statues can be replicas of the ancient Greek and Roman sculptures that are preserved in the museums. Marble fountains can be a good option for decoration both in and outside the house. The statues can be placed by the swimming pool, lawn, garden or small fountain pond. To enhance the elegance of the indoors, you can always use the marble columns.

Marble is very useful to make the bases for the tables. Thus, a glass top along with the table base or marble column can create an elegant ambience in the house. Again, the shorter bases can be used to showcase statues. A marble base can also be mounted on the inlaid coffee tables to maximize the beauty. To add a different dimension to the interior decoration, you can always keep a decorative vase. Again, the marble inlay panels can add brilliance to the home.

Along with different range of colors, marble also comes in different finishes. Naturally, with marble, you have a better choice to suit the style of the house. However, if you have an old set of marble that has turned dull; you can add some putty powder and rub it well on the stone with damp cloth. There are materials specifically made for this purpose as well.
